In exciting news for fans of the GMA Afternoon Prime lineup, the popular series ‘Makiling’ starring Elle Villanueva and Derrick Monasterio has been granted an extension, promising more drama and intrigue for its avid viewers.
The announcement was made in a recent report by Lhar Santiago on ’24 Oras,’ where both lead actors expressed their excitement and gratitude upon learning about the extension.
Elle Villanueva, in particular, shared her eagerness for further character development and storyline expansion.
“Kahit kami, nabibitin kami eh. Gusto pa namin ng more story, more character arch. Parang gusto pa naming ituloy ang show, mas malalim na istorya pa,” she remarked.
Echoing her sentiments, Derrick Monasterio emphasized the rewarding aspect of their hard work on the series, highlighting the importance of the effort they put into their roles.
“Hindi lang talaga siya ratings lang, taas ng ratings, maganda, ganiyan, ‘yung pinaka-rewarding diyan is ‘yung pinagpaguran talaga namin kasi siya. Nakakatuwa,” Derrick added.
Both actors hinted at the anticipation of more intense scenes to come, with Derrick sharing insights into the possibility of additional action sequences tailored to his character. “Sinabi sa akin po na papalagyan pa nila ako ng mas marami pang mga action scenes kasi, ewan ko ba, bagay naman daw po sa akin, hindi naman daw po awkward so parang thank you. Thank you for that compliment,” he revealed.
Elle also expressed her eagerness for future action-packed scenes alongside Derrick, showcasing their versatility as performers. “‘Yung magkaroon kaming action dalawa ni Derrick. Maglalaban kami,” she enthused.
‘Makiling’ marks the successful return of Elle and Derrick to the GMA Afternoon Prime lineup after their previous collaboration, ‘Return to Paradise.’ The series has garnered attention not only for its gripping storyline but also for the on-screen chemistry between its lead stars.
