Kapamilya singer Erik Santos has opened up about his reasons for remaining single and not yet considering marriage.
During the latest episode of ‘Showbiz Updates’ on Friday, May 24, Erik candidly discussed his personal journey and the factors influencing his current stance on relationships.
Erik shared that the thought of settling down crosses his mind, especially since he frequently receives invitations to perform at weddings. However, he revealed that personal family tragedies have impacted his motivation.
“Pero honestly dahil po sa nangyari sa pamilya namin na hindi naman po lingid sa kaalaman ng iba, medyo nawalan po ako ng motivation, e,” Erik explained. “Dumaan din po ako sa matinding pagsubok. So, hindi po ako masyadong naging vocal. Syempre, ‘yong mga panahon na ‘yon—and up until now—may mga episodes pa rin. It comes in waves, e.”
Erik emphasized the importance of self-healing before entering a relationship. “Siguro mas maganda na i-heal ko muna ‘yong sarili ko bago ako siguro makapagmahal ulit nang buo,” he said.
Showbiz insider Ogie Diaz observed that Erik often posts photos of his parents on social media, reflecting his deep sense of loss and longing. Erik’s mother and father passed away in quick succession, in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
