Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson has hinted that he might be heading towards a significant milestone in his life: marriage. In an interview with Kapamilya broadcaster Karen Davila, available on her YouTube channel, Gerald opened up about his thoughts on settling down.
Gerald is currently in a relationship with fellow actress Julia Barretto, which they publicly confirmed in March 2021.
During their conversation, Gerald spoke about living alone in his Quezon City home, which is next to his gym business. Karen suggested it might be time for him to have a partner in life and at home.
“Actually, malapit na. Kailangan kasi siya yung mag-ano sa household, siya yung magbabantay,” Gerald shared.
He continued, “Siyempre, 35 na po ako. Mas malapit na ako dun sa…” Gerald hinted, leaving the sentence unfinished but clearly suggesting he was ready for marriage.
Karen pressed further, asking, “But you are ready? Is that fair? Are you ready for marriage?”
“Yeah, of course. I’m closer to that. Kasi kung five, three years ago, tanong niyo sa akin yan, ‘Hindi, hindi.’ But siyempre, that’s why I’m doing all of this. Kasi gusto ko maalagaan yung mga anak ko. Na wala silang iisipin,” Gerald responded. He added, “But hindi sila puwede maging spoiled. Kasi hindi madali ang buhay. So, yun. Just… everything I do in life is leading up to yung aspeto na yan.”
The conversation then shifted to Julia, with Karen asking, “What makes Julia different?”
“Because we support each other. Yun ang pinakaimportante dun, e. She supports me with my endeavors, yung trabaho ko, yung pagba-basketball ko. Alam din kasi niya na yun din yung nagbibigay, nagpapasaya sa akin,” Gerald explained.
He added, “Yun din yung nag-motivate sa akin every day. Sana, she sees how passionate I am about yung mga bagay na yun. And she supports me. And vice versa din. You know, I always try to push her to be the best version of herself.”
Gerald admitted that they have faced many challenges together. “We’re going through this journey together. Marami highs and lows, but as long as gagawin natin together, I think it makes everything better,” he concluded.
