TV host and actor Ryan Bang has revealed that he has turned down numerous opportunities in Korean entertainment.
In an interview with content creator Sandra Jung on her YouTube channel, Ryan explained the reasons behind his decisions.
When Sandra asked if he had trended in Korea before, Ryan replied, “Ang dami ding nag-offer, kumukuha sakin. ’Yung huling drama dito…Dapat kasama ako doon eh.”
Sandra then inquired why he chose not to accept these offers. Ryan shared that he is selective about his projects, especially those that depict the Philippines.
“Gusto ko kapag ipapalabas sa Korea ang tungkol sa Pilipinas, maganda image. Mag-yes ako. Pero [kung] ‘yung story hindi maganda ‘yung tungkol sa Pilipinas, hindi ako nagye-yes kahit magandang opportunity,” he said.
Ryan emphasized that this is his way of giving back for the love and support he receives from Filipinos.
Speaking of giving back, Ryan shared his dreams of providing jobs and education for many Filipinos.
“My dream right now is to create jobs for many Filipinos,” he said.
He added, “[Then] in the future, I want to build many schools so they can study well.”
He believes that education is the key to making the Philippines number one in Asia again. “Siguro ‘yun ‘yung wish ko, pinagpe-pray ko, ‘yung education,” Ryan noted.
