Diego Gutierrez, the talented singer-songwriter and younger brother of actress Janine Gutierrez, is gearing up for the release of his latest single, ‘Huling Sayaw.’
The song, which he wrote himself, draws inspiration from his recent breakup with a non-showbiz girlfriend a year ago.
In a pocket interview on September 27, Diego opened up about the emotional journey that led to the creation of ‘Huling Sayaw.’ He described the track as capturing the “dying stages of the relationship” and noted, “It’s the first song I wrote after the breakup.”
Having been in a relationship for seven years, Diego shared that the separation was amicable. “I guess, different timelines lang kami. Parang no hard feelings naman at all. It’s all love at the end of the day,” he explained, emphasizing that the decision to part ways was likely for the best for both parties.
Although the song conveys a sense of melancholy, Diego reassured fans that he has since moved on. “I’m in a better place right now,” he said with optimism.
The singer also revealed that his family had an emotional reaction when he first shared the song. “When I played it for my mom, Lotlot de Leon, and my sister, Janine, they both cried,” he recalled.
