Fashion icon and actress Heart Evangelista has revealed that she’s starting to lose interest in attending international fashion weeks.
This comes after fans noticed her absence from the recently held New York Fashion Week.
During a recent Instagram Live session, Heart was asked why she skipped the prestigious event, to which she candidly responded.
She explained that although she was supposed to be there for a few brand commitments, personal matters kept her in the Philippines, particularly the birthday of her twin stepchildren.
“Why wasn’t I in New York Fashion Week? Ah, I don’t know. I feel like I was supposed to be there for a cause and for a few brands, but I didn’t get to go because I have work here in the Philippines and sometimes, I have to balance that out. Um, and also because it was the birthday of the twins so they were turning 17,” Heart shared.
She added that being present for the twins’ birthday was important, emphasizing, “So, 17 is not a joke. I have to be here.”
Heart also hinted that her growing disinterest in fashion weeks could be a sign of aging. “Actually, before, I will go for like three days, I’ll do a few shows, I’ll come back. But I think it’s a sign of aging. Medyo minsan, nakakatamad na,” she admitted.
The actress further explained that she’s trying to be more selective about the events she attends, given her hectic schedule. “I didn’t go because I’m also little tamad because I’m gonna do Paris, Milan, Paris and I’m gonna fly to Bangkok. So I’m gonna be gone for like almost a month. So I feel like I should choose my battles.”
In previous Instagram Live sessions, Heart mentioned that she’s busy with a new project with GMA Network, which is one of the reasons why she’s focusing on her work in the Philippines for now.
