The fourth installment in the ‘Hellboy’ franchise, ‘Hellboy: The Crooked Man,’ premieres in Philippine cinemas today, September 11.
Directed by Brian Taylor, the film plunges viewers into a supernatural battle set in the late 1950s in the Appalachian region, where Hellboy confronts The Crooked Man and a coven of witches.
Jack Kesy stars as Hellboy, a demon raised by humans who works as an agent for the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD). Known for his heroic yet gentle nature, Hellboy is on a mission to transport a magical spider to a lab. Alongside rookie agent Bobby Jo Song, played by Adeline Rudolph, the adventure spirals out of control when the spider escapes, leading the duo to a witch-infested town.
The film introduces key characters like Tom Ferrel, who wields a magical lucky bone, and Cora Fisher, a witch conflicted about her allegiance to The Crooked Man. Martin Massindale portrays the ominous Crooked Man, who leads a band of dark forces. The ensemble must unite to face these supernatural enemies and navigate a series of dangerous encounters.
‘Hellboy: The Crooked Man’ is written by Mike Mignola, the original creator of the Hellboy comic series, who also serves as an executive producer. Mignola’s creative influence spans previous Hellboy films, where he worked closely as a consultant and production designer.
‘Hellboy: The Crooked Man’ is now showing in theaters nationwide.
