The first national pageant for lesbians, Tomboy Philippines 2024, officially kicked off on September 14 in Quezon City with the presentation of 30 official candidates.
Organized by Chit Reyes and backed by Cowee Santos, CEO of Tree House Real Estate and Ventures, the event marks a historic milestone for the lesbian community in the Philippines, aiming to promote inclusivity, equality, and representation.
According to Reyes, the pageant’s mission is to elevate the diverse talents, intelligence, and beauty of lesbians, emphasizing their individuality beyond mere physical appearance. “Tomboy Philippines 2024 is not just a beauty contest—it’s a platform for empowerment and equality,” Reyes said during the launch, highlighting the initiative’s goal to challenge stereotypes and foster societal acceptance.
“For a long time, gay pageants have been the most prevalent. It’s time for the talent of lesbians to be recognized,” Reyes added. The organizers hope to make this pageant a global movement, starting in the Philippines to advocate for equal rights for all.
The 30 candidates come from various regions across the country, representing a diverse range of backgrounds. Among the contenders are Anntoi Deloso from South Cotabato, Louie Ele from Nueva Ecija, Rinoa Nicolas from Binangonan, Rizal, Jhan Nanit from Antipolo, Rizal, and Bana Daranciang from Sta.
