Comedy Concert Queen Aiai delas Alas assisted Angelica Yulo, the mother of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, with her live selling event on Facebook.
The two met for the first time on October 15, 2024, at a karaoke bar in Malate, Manila, where they quickly hit it off.
The meeting was part of Aiai’s singing challenge show, ‘The Clash, Agad-Agad,’ streamed on her official Facebook page.
In exchange for Angelica’s guest appearance on the show, Aiai agreed to help with Angelica’s live selling, which featured a variety of T-shirts. The event was a huge success, with over 3,000 viewers tuning in, including notable personalities like director Darryl Yap and content creator Boss Toyo, leading to a sold-out sale.
Aiai had expressed her support for Angelica in the publicized family rift between Angelica and her son Carlos Yulo. The estrangement between Carlos and his mother has been a topic of conversation, especially with Carlos’s relationship with girlfriend Chloe San Jose.
During their first encounter, Aiai admitted she was surprised by Angelica’s youthful appearance, initially mistaking her for a much younger person.
However, they quickly bonded, and Angelica performed a rendition of ‘Dancing Queen’ for the show. Her husband, Mark Andrew Yulo, also made an appearance, briefly stepping away from work to meet Aiai and later joining her for a duet of ‘Blue Bayou.’
While Angelica has moved on from her estrangement with Carlos, netizens watching the event couldn’t help but raise questions in the comments, wondering when the Olympian might reconnect with his mother.
Despite the distance between them, Angelica focused on the success of her live selling, grateful for the overwhelming support during the event.
