Should she make a comeback, the award-winning director promises to surely cast Perez.
While Director Rory Quintos didn’t have a generally favorable assessment on Team Vhong, Ion, Darren, and Amy, her eyes did not fail to see Ion Perez, who made impressive stunts for their Magpasikat 2024 entry.
During her comment on the performance, she particularly singled out Perez for his commendable part.
“Ion. What a surprise! Ngayon lang kasi kita nakita. Of course, you’re very fit and so, you’re able to do those moves, ”she said, commenting about Perez’s incredibly-mounted stunts.
But her comments on Perez’s acting potential, are much, much, bigger.
“What really suprised me, aside from here, you should explore seriously. I know you’re already acting and taking on roles, pero kinu-close-up ka kasi dito, so naku-close up mga mata mo…” she proceeded, explaining exactly why she sees great potential in the It’s Showtime host.
“KARGADONG KARGADO. Sabi ko, ‘ah meron!’. Ang batang ito, meron. Meron, “, she reiterated, which made the other hosts teased Vice Ganda.
“Naiiyak yung manager, oh!” they said.
“Eh, kasi naman, si Direk Rory yan, dyusko! Siya ang magsasabi ng ‘HAKTOR KA’!” responded Vice, alluding to Perez’s Kapampangan accent
Quintos has not directed any TV series and movies, since 2018. But should she make a much-anticipated comeback, she promises to include Perez in the cast.
“If I’m making a comeback, ica-cast kita. May karga kasi mga mata eh. So, I think, if you seriously explore acting, you will do very well, ” Quintos added, delivering a promise.
Direk Quintos’ last projects are Sana Dalawa Ang Puso Ko (2018) on TV, and Suddenly It’s Magic (2012) in film. She helmed several award-winning Star Cinema films, including Anak (2000), Kailangan Kita (2002), and Dubai (2005).
The winner of Magpasikat 2024 will be announced on Saturday, October 26, 2024.
