Award-winning actress Nadine Lustre has addressed recent criticisms surrounding her endorsement of an online gambling platform, emphasizing that gambling is a personal decision.
The issue arose during an Instagram broadcast on Monday, Dec. 2, when Lustre asked her followers about their plans for December. One follower replied, “Magsugal”, to which Lustre responded, “Choice mo ‘yan”.
The response comes weeks after Lustre, known for her advocacy for animal rights, environmental conservation, and mental health, faced backlash for partnering with an online gambling platform. Critics claimed her endorsement contradicted her advocacies. However, fans have defended Lustre, urging others to respect her career choices.
Lustre has not publicly addressed the controversy directly until her recent statement on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Lustre is set to make a grand return to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) with ‘Uninvited’, a star-studded film featuring industry legends Vilma Santos, Aga Muhlach, Tirso Cruz III, Mylene Dizon, and Lotlot de Leon.
