The legal battle between Kapuso stars Rita Daniela and Archie Alemania continues, with Rita’s lawyer, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, calling the actor’s counter-affidavit a “mere affirmation” of the accusations.
Speaking on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’, Atty. Maggie shared that Archie’s statements in his defense seem to confirm some of the allegations raised by Rita in her complaint for acts of lasciviousness.
“He also admitted that while in the car, he touched Rita. Albeit, he said that he uttered those words because he was just being wacky and he made the touches to comfort her, this does not erase the fact that he did the acts complained of,” Atty. Maggie stated.
The lawyer further emphasized that Archie’s admission about Rita being angry when she left the car raises questions about his intent. “He also said in his counter affidavit that when Rita got out of his vehicle, she was very angry. Why would Rita be angry when he did not do something wrong when they were at the car? If he just touched to comfort her?” she added.
Archie filed his counter-affidavit on December 10 at the Bacoor Hall of Justice in Cavite. The actor, accompanied by his lawyer, vehemently denied the accusations of harassment and misconduct against his co-star.
The case stems from an alleged incident during the thanksgiving party of their ‘Widows’ War’ co-star Bea Alonzo in Quezon City. Rita filed her complaint for acts of lasciviousness with the Office of the City Prosecutor in Bacoor City on October 30.
Rita is expected to submit her response to Archie’s counter-affidavit on December 17. Atty. Maggie reiterated that the statements in Archie’s defense constitute a “material admission” that strengthens the case against him.
