Award-winning actor-director Coco Martin is pulling out all the stops for the highly anticipated new chapter of ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’.
As the show continues to dominate primetime television, Martin, who also serves as the series’ co-producer under Dreamscape Entertainment and ABS-CBN, is introducing fresh faces and intensified action sequences to elevate the storytelling.
On Tuesday, January 28, the ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ cast and crew will convene for a Hero’s Welcome event at ABS-CBN’s ELJ Building. The gathering will include a story conference to introduce new characters, followed by a pictorial for updated promotional materials. These preparations aim to build excitement among fans and set the stage for what promises to be an action-packed continuation of the series.
Recent episodes revealed that Rigor, played by John Estrada, survived his brutal encounter with Tanggol (Coco Martin). While viewers initially thought Rigor met his end in a climactic confrontation, it was later revealed that Tanggol spared his life after a heartfelt plea from his mother, Marites (Cherry Pie Picache).
This twist has added more drama to the narrative, creating new tensions and storylines as the series progresses.

“Isa sa pinakamagandang nangyayari pag nagdi-direk ako kay direk Coco at kasama na ‘yung ibang artista ay naka-focus talaga si direk CM at kabisado niya lahat ng eksena,” Somes explained.
The team is also focused on safety and precision during action scenes. “At the same time, may binibigay siya. na mga ideya at bagong aspeto,” Somes added.
The series’ night-time action scenes, often set in rain-soaked urban environments, add a raw, gritty texture to the show. Even props like tires and other elements are thoughtfully incorporated to enhance the authenticity of the sequences.
Somes praised Martin’s commitment to the project, highlighting his hands-on approach to directing and acting.
