Tony Labrusca is officially making his debut as a Kapuso actor in GMA Network’s highly anticipated series ‘Binibining Marikit’, alongside beauty queen and actress Herlene Budol.
The actor revealed in a recent interview on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ that he had long hoped to work with Budol, even praying for the opportunity.
“Ewan ko, may something sa energy niya na feeling ko masaya siya kasama, totoo siyang tao, and ngayon, masasabi ko, she’s exactly the way I imagined in my head,” Labrusca shared during the interview on January 23.
Labrusca couldn’t hide his admiration for Budol, describing her as “lovely, inside and out.” He added that working with her has been an enjoyable experience, thanks to her positive attitude and authenticity.
“Na-amaze ako kasi alam mo ‘yung minsan may na-i-imagine ka na tao sa isip mo and Herlene was exactly the way I imagined her so really lovely working with her, she puts everybody in such a good mood,” the actor said. “Isa sa mga favorite features ko kay Herlene ay ‘yung labi niya. She’s got beautiful lips.”
When asked about Budol’s features that stand out to him, Labrusca pointed to her expressive eyes and beautiful lips.
“Isa sa mga favorite features ko kay Herlene ay ‘yung labi niya. She’s got beautiful lips,” he shared. “At saka napaka-expressive ng mata ni Herlene. Alam n’yo, kapag nag-eeksena kami, marami siyang emotional na scenes, maraming sinasabi ang mata ni Herlene. Napakaganda ng mata niya.”
After years of success with ABS-CBN, Labrusca is starting a new chapter in his career with GMA Network. He first rose to fame in 2016 as a contestant on ‘Pinoy Boyband Superstar’ and went on to star in several ABS-CBN projects, including ‘Nag-aapoy na Damdamin’ in 2024. Now, as a Kapuso actor, Labrusca is embracing his role in ‘Binibining Marikit’, which pairs him with Budol for the first time.
The upcoming series will showcase a mix of romance and drama, focusing on the chemistry between Labrusca and Budol. It marks Budol’s continued rise as a leading lady following her success in beauty pageants and comedy.
‘Binibining Marikit’ is set to premiere soon on GMA Network, and both stars promise to deliver a heartfelt and memorable performance.
