TV host and actress Karla Estrada has found herself at the center of controversy after her ex-boyfriend, Jam Ignacio, was accused of physically assaulting his fiancée, DJ Jellie Aw.
Following the viral photos of Aw’s battered face, netizens expressed relief that Estrada had already ended her five-year relationship with Ignacio, calling it a “blessing in disguise” that saved her from potential harm.
Social media was flooded with comments from fans who sympathized with Estrada and condemned Ignacio’s alleged actions.
Imagine only less than a day after nya magparinig nang magparinig kay Karla Estrada sa IG stories nya, ganito nangyari sakanya. Di mo nga talaga masabi ang buhay no?

Damn! KARLA ESTRADA dodged a bullet. Padilla makakalaban niya eh. #jam #ignacio #jellie #aw @Estrada21Karla

Estrada and Ignacio ended their five-year relationship in 2024, and the actress previously admitted that he is the only ex she has not remained friends with.
In an interview on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ in January, Estrada shared: “Lahat ng ex ko, friends ko. Pero itong ex ko pa lang na ito, hindi pa.”
However, she remains open to eventual reconciliation: “Magiging kaibigan ko rin iyan eventually. Pero ang pagpapatawad, hindi naman overnight. Kailangan ko ring patawarin ang sarili ko.”
Estrada also pointed out that they have no reason to interact anymore, as they have no children together.
“Wala kaming koneksyon. Pero para sa sarili kong katahimikan, eventually, makakapagpatawad rin ako.”
Even before the abuse allegations surfaced, tensions between Estrada and Ignacio’s new fiancée, Jellie Aw, had been brewing online.
Estrada previously posted a now-deleted Facebook status that read: “I don’t have time for this, but my lawyers have. Cyber libel, here we go.”
Many speculated that her post was directed at Aw, who then responded on Instagram: “Karla Estrada, nanahimik ako! Wag mo damay work ko.”
Neither Estrada nor Aw confirmed the exact nature of their dispute, but their social media exchange only fueled speculation about lingering conflicts.
The serious accusations against Ignacio surfaced when Aw’s sister, Jo Aw, accused him of domestic violence.
According to Jo’s viral Facebook post, Ignacio allegedly attacked Jellie inside a locked car, and the only reason she escaped was because the RFID at a toll gate malfunctioned, allowing her to scream for help.
“Ni hindi makahingi ng tulong ate ko dahil kinuha niya ang cellphone. Buti na lang hindi nabasa ‘yung RFID sa toll at nakahingi siya ng tulong sa teller!”
Aw’s injuries, including a swollen eye, a busted lip, and bruises, were documented in graphic social media posts.
