Alex Calleja has achieved a milestone as his stand-up comedy special, ‘Tamang Panahon,’ reached the No. 1 spot on Netflix Philippines’ Top 10 TV Shows.
This feat displaced the popular action-thriller series ‘Incognito,’ which held the top spot for weeks.
The news was announced by Alex through a series of social media posts on February 10, 2025. Expressing his excitement, he wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Nagising ako na Number 1 na ang stand-up comedy special ko sa Netflix! Tayo po ang FIRST stand-up comedy special featuring a pure Pinoy stand-up comedian na nag Number 1 sa Netflix.”
He added, “Sobrang tuwa ko dahil nagbunga ang pinaghirapan ko kasama ang mga kapwa ko comedians sa The Comedy Crew. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng tao na tumulong para mabuo itong pangarap ko. Tamang Panahon talaga!”

While celebrating the achievement, Calleja revealed that it wasn’t just the ranking that brought him joy. The comedian shared how he was overwhelmed by heartfelt messages and feedback from fans, many of whom said his comedy brought them happiness during difficult times.
“Hindi ko alam na ganito pala ang epekto ng comedy ko sa mga taong nanunuod,” he wrote in a follow-up post. “Ang sarap sa pakiramdam na sa maliit na paraan, nagbibigay tayo ng ligaya sa mga Pinoy sa buong mundo. Patuloy po tayong tumawa!”
The top spot was previously held by ‘Incognito,’ a Netflix original series starring Daniel Padilla, Richard Gutierrez, and Maris Racal. Despite slipping to No. 2, the show remains a hit with its intense storylines and action-packed scenes.
One particularly memorable scene from Episode 17 features Maris Racal, who engages in a high-stakes chase while wearing only a bra and panties. Her character later takes down five attackers in a dramatic fight sequence. Meanwhile, Daniel Padilla delivered a gripping performance as his character confronted Art Acuña in a fit of rage.
‘Tamang Panahon’ is a 59-minute stand-up comedy special where Calleja delivers hilarious observations on gossip, gender dynamics, and the differences between social classes. It is the first Filipino stand-up comedy special to achieve such success on Netflix.
