Award-winning actress Glaiza de Castro became emotional during the grand media conference for her upcoming musical film ‘Sinagtala’ on March 12, 2025.

Joined by co-stars Rhian Ramos, Arci Muñoz, Matt Lozano, and Rayver Cruz, the press event revolved around the film’s themes of music, friendship, and resilience. When asked how they overcame personal struggles, Glaiza opened up about how music has been a source of comfort and healing in her life.

While responding to the question, the actress suddenly choked up, wiping away tears before explaining her emotions.

’Yun ang ano…” she began before pausing.

Laughing through her tears, she added, “Bakit ako naiiyak? Sorry, guys, feeling ko lang may PMS ako ngayon, so medyo emotional ako.”

She then elaborated on how deeply intertwined music is with her life.

Every time na may struggle, talagang music ‘yung nagpapasaya.”

Glaiza also admitted that she initially thought she wouldn’t be able to take part in Sinagtala due to scheduling conflicts but expressed her gratitude for being included in the project.

The actress revealed that she became emotional throughout filming, often without knowing why.

She emphasized how music serves as her personal outlet, allowing her to express emotions and share her artistry with her fans.

Despite being raised in a musically inclined family, Glaiza admitted to having insecurities about her singing abilities.

She then joked about embracing her new role as a band leader in the film: “Again, through this film, parang nagkaroon ako ng bagong purpose sa life—as a band leader. Wow!” she quipped.

In ‘Sinagtala’, Glaiza, Rhian, Rayver, Matt, and Arci portray bandmates navigating personal struggles while chasing their musical dreams. Each character experiences life-changing moments, making the film a mix of heartfelt drama and musical storytelling.

Renowned director Mike Sandejas, best known for ‘Tulad ng Dati’, helms the film, incorporating original Filipino songs performed by the cast.

She also shared her realization about how dreams evolve over time, reflecting on the deeper meaning of the film.

Produced by Sinagtala Productions, ‘Sinagtala’ will premiere in cinemas nationwide on April 2, 2025.
