Kapamilya stars Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino continue to solidify their partnership beyond television and film, as they recently teamed up for another major brand endorsement with Chowking.
The two attended the official launch event on March 3 at the Amang Marcos branch in Pasig City. While Kim has been a longtime Chowking brand ambassador for nearly a decade, this marks Paulo’s official debut as an endorser for the fast-food chain.
With their growing number of projects together, Paulo acknowledged that they are becoming a favorite tandem among advertisers. Aside from their upcoming projects, the two have built strong on-screen chemistry, which extends to their brand collaborations.
As the summer season arrives, Chowking’s cooling treats were a central part of the event. During the discussion, the actors were asked how they help each other stay calm in stressful situations.
Kim described Paulo as an effortlessly cool and composed individual, whose demeanor inspires her to stay relaxed.
“Tingnan mo lang siya at kausapin, maku-cooldown ka talaga,” Kim said. “Para siyang kalmadong tao, maraming kalma sa kanya.”
Paulo, on the other hand, highlighted Kim’s bubbly and cheerful personality, admitting that her energy is contagious.
“Kapag nakikita mo si Kim, nawawala ang pagod mo dahil nakakahawa ang happiness na ibinibigay niya sa lahat,” Paulo shared.
Beyond their on-screen chemistry, Kim and Paulo share a passion for food.
Kim enjoys exploring new and unique flavors, considering food as her “happy pill”, which not only satisfies her cravings but also brings her joy.
Meanwhile, Paulo confessed to being health-conscious, carefully choosing what he eats. However, he allows himself cheat days, during which he indulges in his favorite dishes.
When asked about their summer cravings, Paulo revealed that halo-halo is one of his go-to desserts, with ube and leche flan as his favorite ingredients.
“Sa akin siguro, ube-leche flan kasi paborito ko talaga,” he playfully quipped.
Kim, in turn, compared Paulo to nata de coco, an unexpected but essential ingredient in the Filipino dessert.
“Ikaw ‘yung nata de coco… Kasi mahirap hanapin pero kapag nahanap mo, hhmmmm success,” she joked.
With their upcoming teleserye, movie, and growing list of endorsements, Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino continue to prove their strong marketability as a tandem.
