Actress and entrepreneur Maja Salvador confirmed that John Lloyd Cruz and Miles Ocampo are no longer part of her talent agency, Crown Artist Management Inc., during a press conference for her contract renewal with Beautéderm Corporation held on March 26 at Solaire Resort North.
Salvador shared that Cruz, who was among the first artists signed under Crown, decided to step back from showbiz altogether.
“Si Lloydie po, nung buntis ako, sabi niya, ‘Maj, hindi naman ako nagtatrabaho.’ So nag-separate ways kami with respect naman,” she revealed. “Nade-decline rin po ‘yung mga magagandang projects kasi focused din siya kay Elias.”
The veteran actor, who has been largely absent from the public eye, has shifted his focus to spending time with his son Elias, his child with Ellen Adarna. Maja added that even endorsement offers, including one from Beautéderm, no longer pique Cruz’s interest.
Meanwhile, actress Miles Ocampo has also exited Crown and is set to join Triple A Management, the talent agency headed by Mike Tuviera. Maja did not confirm the status of Jasmine Curtis, who was also part of the original Crown lineup.
Despite the changes in talent, Salvador remains optimistic about the agency’s growth. She credited operations manager Vania Edralin for playing a pivotal role in strengthening Crown as it enters its fifth year.
“Sobrang smooth at sobrang ganda ng mga nangyayari sa Crown. Masaya kami dahil may mga nagtitiwala pa rin sa management kahit nagsisimula pa lang kami,” Salvador said.
Now a proud mother to her eight-month-old daughter Maria, Salvador admitted that her priorities have shifted entirely toward family life. She gave birth in Canada in May 2024 after enduring a 30-hour labor. While she’s slowly returning to work, her daughter remains her top priority.
When asked about the possibility of revealing Maria’s face to the public, Maja expressed deep hesitation due to concerns over online safety and AI technology.
“Hindi ko pa talaga masasagot kung kailan ko siya ipe-face reveal… Natatakot ako sa AI. Baka gamitin ‘yung picture somewhere. Hindi natin alam, ginagamit na pala nila ‘yung picture o video,” she said.
She also voiced frustration over how children of celebrities often become targets of criticism online.
“Inosenteng bata, tapos iba-bash lang. Hindi ko na lang ise-share kung iba-bash lang naman nila,” Maja said firmly. “Ayoko, bilang ina. Hindi ako patolera pero kung mangyayari ‘yun, parang may lalabas na ibang Maja.”
Despite not revealing Maria’s face, brands have already tapped the baby girl for endorsements. “Thankful kami because may mga bagong brands which we consider na bagong pamilya,” Maja added.
Now under a program-based contract with MQuest Ventures, TV5, and Cignal—not a management deal—Maja is gearing up for multiple projects in 2025. She will return to hosting in Emojination Season 5 with Chad Kinis, star in the dance show Isayaw Mo, and headline an upcoming series she’s excited about.
“Hopefully, baka may pelikula po. Pero ano pa po ‘yan, tatantiyahin natin. Depende kay Maria,” she said with a smile.
When she begins taping in April, she plans to bring her daughter to set.
Beautéderm founder Rhea Anicoche-Tan, also one of Maria’s godmothers, spoke highly of Maja: “Her pure heart is my favorite thing about her. She deserves a good family life and is an inspiration to women who dream of balancing career and motherhood.”
Four years into her partnership with Beautéderm, Maja remains one of the most active endorsers of the brand’s flagship skincare line, the Blanc Set, which includes products targeting acne and hyperpigmentation.
