Kapamilya host and comedian Ryan Bang made a surprising revelation about his relationship with fiancée Paola Huyong—she once got jealous, but not over another woman. Instead, the cause of the tension was none other than Ogie Alcasid.
During an interview with Gladys Reyes on her YouTube channel, Ryan shared details about his personal life, his career, and a rather unexpected misunderstanding between him and his soon-to-be wife.
Gladys asked Ryan about his friendships in showbiz, particularly his bond with Ogie Alcasid, which led to a surprising confession.
“Isa siya sa pinaka-ka-close ko ngayon. Tsaka first time na nagselos si Paola dahil kay Kuya Ogie,” Ryan admitted.
Curious about the reason, Gladys pressed for details, and Ryan explained that his constant admiration for Ogie’s golf skills led Paola to feel left out.
“Bukambibig ko raw si Kuya Ogie. Usually, ‘di ba, nagse-selos yung mga babae sa ibang babae? Siya, nag-selos siya kay Kuya Ogie kasi sabi ko, ‘Alam mo, si Kuya Ogie, pag-swing niya napaka-sexy.’”
Ryan, an avid golf player, credited Ogie for inspiring him to take the sport seriously.
“Magkasama kami lagi sa golf. Sobrang galing ni Kuya Ogie mag-golf kaya naging idol ko siya. First time ako nag-champion sa ABS-CBN Golf Tournament dahil kay Kuya Ogie,” he shared.
Looking back, Ryan admitted that he may have talked about Ogie a little too much, which led Paola to playfully question his admiration.
“In love na in love ako kasi ang galing niya mag-golf! Muntik na kami maghiwalay ni Paola dahil kay Kuya Ogie Alcasid,” Ryan joked.
Ryan and Paola have been together since 2023, and in June 2024, they announced their engagement. The couple shared the happy news with a series of photos, with Paola captioning her post “God is good.”
Their engagement also marked a heartfelt reunion between Ryan’s estranged parents, who came together to meet Paola’s family over dinner.
