Kapuso actress Ashley Ortega became emotional as she opened up about her estranged relationship with her mother during a heart-to-heart conversation with Ivana Alawi inside the ‘Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition’ house.
While bonding in the garden area of the ‘PBB’ house, Ortega revealed that she has not spoken to her mother for three years, and she has been living alone since.
“Three years na akong living alone, ako lang mag-isa. Galit pa rin siya sa akin. I haven’t spoken to her in three years,” Ortega shared, her voice heavy with emotion.
A TikTok video capturing their conversation has since gone viral, drawing attention to the actress’ personal struggles.
Alawi, visibly surprised by Ortega’s revelation, initially assumed that her family had sent her off before she entered the PBB house.
“You know, it’s really hard when you fight with your family,” Alawi empathized.
Ortega, who has found support in her boyfriend, fellow Kapuso star Mavy Legaspi, acknowledged the difficulty of their estrangement.
“Oo naman, alam ko naman ‘yon. Ako lang mag-isa, saka si Mavy [Legaspi], ang dyowa ko,” she responded.
Despite the years of silence, Ortega expressed her longing for reconciliation with her mother.
“Mag-isa lang ako. I’m a strong independent girl… Sana magbati na kami. Hinihintay ko lang naman siya,” she said, her voice filled with hope.
The actress also admitted that she sees her stint inside PBB as a possible bridge to mending her relationship with her mother.
Ortega, known as the ‘Independent Tis-ice Princess of San Juan’, is among the notable housemates in ‘PBB Celebrity Collab Edition’, while Alawi, dubbed the ‘Phenomenal Content Queen of Quezon City’, is the first house guest posing as a regular contestant.
