‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ housemate Bianca de Vera opened up about receiving harsh labels online, including being called the “Starlet ng Ignacia,” in the show’s recent episode that tackled the most hurtful bashing experiences of each contestant.
De Vera echoed the sentiments of fellow housemate Shuvee Etrata, who previously addressed being called “Starlet ng Kamuning.” According to Bianca, the criticisms likely stem from the perception that she doesn’t deserve the opportunities she’s been given.
“I feel like I’m blessed enough to be given the right projects, kaya feeling ko kaya nasasabi rin ‘to kasi they feel like I’m not deserving of the roles that I’m given,” she explained.
Despite the negative comments, Bianca maintained her composure and self-assurance.
“Ewan ko. Mali ba na hindi ako masyadong apektado because alam ko rin sa sarili ko na, okay sa ibang tao starlet ako pero alam ko sa Ignacia minamahal ako, naniniwala sila sa akin at tumataya sila sa akin kaya nga ako nandito sa PBB, ‘di ba?”
Bianca de Vera first caught widespread attention in 2022 after her emotional viral video on TikTok, where she documented her car being towed due to alleged illegal parking. The clip, filmed inside the moving vehicle while she was crying, quickly racked up nearly 4 million views within just five hours.
More than the car trouble, what broke down the young actress was missing her salon appointment.
“Sa ‘kin lang, sana pinatapos nila ako ipa-rebond ‘yung buhok ko, ‘di ba? Hindi pantay ‘yung buhok ko, guys,” she said, sobbing in the video.
She even pleaded with the tow personnel at the time, “‘Kuya, puwede ba kahit five minutes lang, kailangan lang ipantay ni ate ‘yung buhok ko.’ Pero, guys, hindi siya pantay!”
The lighthearted yet emotional moment gained thousands of reactions and laughing emojis from netizens, with Bianca playfully captioning her video: “Fresh from the salon! Kaya ko pa ba today?”
A fresh face in showbiz at the time, Bianca was part of Rise Artists Studio and later gained recognition for her role as Pat, the sister of Kathryn Bernardo’s character in the hit ABS-CBN teleserye ‘2 Good 2 Be True’. She also appeared in the 2023 series ‘Unbreak My Heart’ opposite fellow PBB housemate Will Ashley, which aired on GMA Network.
‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ airs new episodes on GMA Network weeknights at 10:00 p.m. and weekends at 6:15 p.m.
