OPM singer and O/C Records founder Kean Cipriano is mourning the heartbreaking passing of his mother, Chona Cipriano, who died on April 1 at the age of 60.

In a deeply emotional tribute shared on Facebook and Instagram on April 7, Kean poured his grief into words, expressing the pain of losing his mother so suddenly.
“Napakasakit. Napakabilis ng mga pangyayare. Nakakatakot. Nakakayanig,” he wrote. “Napakasakit na makita kang nahihirapan. Hindi mo deserve ‘yon.”
Kean, 37, shared how much his mother meant to him and how devastated he is by her passing. “Sobrang wasak puso ko ngayon, Mommy. Hindi ko pa rin matanggap. Magsisimula ako na mabuhay ng wala ka. Ang bigat. Ang lungkot,” he said.
Despite the sorrow, the singer finds solace knowing that his mother’s pain has ended. “Payapa ako na tapos na ang paghihirap mo. Alam kong nagpaparamdam ka sa mga kanta. Nararamdaman kita sa hangin,” he continued.
He also reflected on the outpouring of love his family received in the past days, saying, “Ang daming nagmamahal sa’yo, Mommy. Pare-pareho sila ng sinasabi: ‘Napakabait ng Mommy n’yo. Napakabuti ng puso. Walang masamang tinapay.’”

Kean fondly remembered his mom’s comforting words: “‘Kean, wag ka masyado magpa-stress sa work ha. Relax ka lang.’” He said he would miss her smile, her laughter, her voice, and her warm hugs and kisses.
This is not the first time the singer has had to deal with immense grief. In 2016, Kean lost his father, Edgie Cipriano, due to cardiac arrest. Now, as the eldest of three siblings, Kean finds himself navigating life without both parents.
He ended his message with a promise to carry her love moving forward: “Pero ‘yung pagmamahal mo ang dadalhin ko para umusad. Rest in peace, Mommy. Mahal na mahal kita. Keanpot.”
Kean is married to actress Chynna Ortaleza. They have two children together—Stellar, born in 2016, and Salem, born in 2019.
