Comedian Gene Padilla is leaning into the controversy surrounding his exclusion from his niece Claudia Barretto’s wedding, unveiling a new tattoo that boldly reads “Mr. Uninvited” on his left arm.
On Facebook, Gene posted a video of himself getting inked, proudly showing the new tattoo, which he said was dedicated to his critics. “Para sa ating mga basher. The best kayo bashers. We really love you. Kayo na rin naman nagbigay niyan eh… ‘di gawin natin,” he said.
The tattoo references the viral rift between Gene and the Barretto family, particularly after Marjorie Barretto publicly stated that Gene was never invited to Claudia’s wedding in the first place. The issue flared up when Gene, alongside his brother Dennis Padilla, expressed disappointment online over how Dennis was allegedly treated during the ceremony — criticizing the decision to let Claudia walk down the aisle alone despite Dennis being present.
Marjorie countered the claims, explaining that Dennis had agreed to Claudia’s wish beforehand and that Gene had no reason to complain as he was not included in the guest list at all. She also stressed that no family member was mistreated during the event.
Despite the passage of time, Gene appears unwilling to let go of the controversy. Following the wedding, he had already started selling T-shirts emblazoned with “MU” and “Mr. Uninvited” — and now, he’s taken it a step further with a permanent reminder on his skin.
The comedian’s move, however, triggered another round of backlash in the comments section. Netizens mocked him for his persistence, with some writing, “Sana sa noo mo pinalagay,” and others calling him out for seeking attention: “Pinatattoo pa ang pagiging 8080” and “Magkapatid nga kayo, parehong kulang sa pansin.”
