Veteran comedian and former ‘Eat Bulaga!’ host Jimmy Santos has officially returned to the Philippines after a much-talked-about stay in Calgary, Canada—where he previously made headlines for vlogging about bottle and can recycling.
In his latest YouTube vlog posted on April 19, Jimmy shared scenes from his current daily life in Angeles City, Pampanga, where he now lives alone. From doing household chores and working out at the local gym to watering plants, the comedian gave fans a peek into his simple, independent routine.
“Nandito na po ako sa Pinas. Marami ho ang nagtatanong, akala nandoon na ako sa Canada. Hindi ho, pinasyalan ko lang ho ‘yung apo ko para sa kaniyang first communion,” Jimmy clarified.
He added that while visiting his family abroad, he took the opportunity to film vlogs—including his now-viral content showing him collecting recyclable bottles and cans in Canada.
“At the same time, nakapag-vlog na rin ako doon, nangalakal ako. Maganda naman. Maganda naman ang sistema kapag nangangalakal kayo, malinis at talagang disiplinado mga tao doon,” he said.
The former basketball player emphasized that his permanent residence remains in the Philippines, stating on Facebook: “Binibisita ko lang anak at apo ko doon, dito ako sa Pilipinas naglalagi talaga.”
Jimmy also explained why he lives solo in Pampanga, while his wife stays in Pateros: “Bilang nag-iisa ako dito sa Pampanga, e, yung aking misis nasa Pateros po… marami po siyang mga inaasikaso. E, medyo may edad na rin ang misis ko kaya… lalo na po ngayon mainit, medyo ingat-ingat lang po.”
He shared that he occasionally steps out to meet friends, enjoy a good meal, or have a glass of wine: “Nagyayang kumain, konting kuwentuhan. Konting shot ng wine,” he said with a smile.
Jimmy first gained renewed attention in 2023 after documenting his recycling journey in Calgary, where he explained how the Canadian system offers payment for recyclables and encourages residents to follow environmental practices.
He returned to the Philippines later that year and even made a surprise visit to the ‘Eat Bulaga!’ studio, reuniting with his former co-hosts.
