Kapamilya star and ‘It’s Showtime’ host Anne Curtis is making her voice heard this election season, sharing her senatorial preferences and party-list endorsement ahead of the May 12, 2025 midterm elections.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, May 6, Anne revealed her “top picks for senators (so far),” naming former senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino, former Commission on Audit (COA) commissioner Heidi Mendoza, and labor leader Atty. Luke Espiritu.
Her post included a placard featuring the four candidates, highlighting their advocacies: Pangilinan for agriculture, Aquino for education, Mendoza as an anti-corruption and audit crusader, and Espiritu for law and human rights.
“So far, my top picks for senators!!!!” she wrote.
Anne also encouraged her followers to engage in the conversation and help complete her “Magic 12” senatorial lineup: “Kulang pa. Kayo? Sino pa nasa listahan niyo? At bakit? Would love to hear why! Need to add more to my list!”
On the party-list side, Anne voiced her support for Akbayan Partylist, whose first nominee is renowned human rights lawyer Chel Diokno.
“Atty Chel Diokno, someone na pwedeng pagkatiwalaan. I have been following his work and walang sawa siya sa pagbigay ng legal knowledge, empowering us Filipinos to know what our rights are,” Anne said in a separate post.
“Nasa kanya ang tiwala ko. You may also do your research about him! But please wag natin gawing TOTGA (the one that got away),” she added.
The 2025 midterm elections are scheduled for Monday, May 12, which President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has declared a special non-working holiday.
Anne’s public endorsements come just days after she also called for stricter road safety measures following a string of vehicular tragedies, further demonstrating her growing civic engagement and use of her platform for national issues.
