Kapuso actor and “Pambansang Ginoo” David Licauco recently addressed criticisms about his low-key stint as a houseguest on ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’, admitting that while he may have come across as quiet, the experience inside Kuya’s house was deeply personal and transformative for him.
Taking to Facebook shortly after exiting the iconic reality show, David reflected on his short stay and revealed that joining PBB had been a long-time dream.
“Wow. Crazy to think I once lined up for PBB auditions in 2015… and years later, I got to be a houseguest,” he wrote. “It was different from what I imagined—may magic talaga sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya.”
The actor admitted that while his on-cam presence may not have been as lively as others, he gained valuable insights during his time on the show.
“I may have been quiet, but I learned a lot about myself. Truth is, no one really knows what it’s like inside unless you’ve lived it.”
David also addressed the online buzz surrounding his supposedly “boring” presence inside the house, with some netizens—like online personality Chonna Mae—calling him out for not bringing enough excitement.
In a gracious and humble tone, David responded: “To everyone who supported, thank you. (Sa mga naboringan sa ‘kin, sorry na po).”
Despite the criticism, David remained grateful to his fellow housemates and even gave a shoutout to their memorable food bonding moments: “Thank you for the warm welcome, solid convos, and syempre, the best food: Ate Klang’s ulam, Ralph’s rice, and Esnyr’s ice cream.”
David, who is known for his calm and reserved personality, added a final reveal in his post: “Fun fact: I was actually considered to be a housemate earlier this year.”
Though he may not have been the most animated guest in the house, fans—especially those from the BarDa fandom—still tuned in to witness his charm and heartfelt friendship with fellow Kapuso star Dustin Yu.
‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ airs on GMA Network and Kapamilya platforms, continuing to bring together stars from different networks in one unforgettable house experience.
