Former ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ housemates Emilio Daez and Kira Balinger are feeling the impact of their reality show stint — and they’re ready to take on bigger acting challenges, including the possibility of starring in a ‘Bagani’-like series.
During the Star Magic Spotlight press conference held last Friday, both Emilio and Kira reflected on how their careers changed after PBB.
“Honestly, I’m still in shock,” Emilio admitted. “It feels like a dream—the warm reception of people, their support for me, Kira, and all of ‘PBB Collab.’ It really inspires me to be a better person, work harder, and give my best for everyone who supports us.”
Before joining ‘PBB’, Emilio was relatively unknown to the public. He shared that now, people recognize him in public, and even his social media posts have started trending—something he never expected.
Kira, who already had acting experience and starred in the film ‘Maple Leaf Dreams’, said the show brought a level of love and support she’s never experienced in her 11-year career.
“This is the first time I’m receiving this much love and appreciation,” Kira said. “It’s overwhelming but heartwarming. It pushes me to grow as a person and an actress, to give back.”
Since leaving the ‘PBB’ house, both stars have been busy with various commitments. Emilio, dubbed the “Mr. Bankable Achiever ng Pasig City,” is set to headline ‘Love at First Spike’, an upcoming iWantTFC original series.
“Right now, I’m just saying yes to every opportunity. It’s a blessing to be working right after PBB, so I want to make the most out of it,” he shared.
Kira, the “Hopeful Belle ng Cavite,” expressed interest in more dynamic roles, particularly as a kontrabida. “For the longest time, I’ve been playing good-girl roles. I want to try something different,” she said. Her dream role? “Nahihiya ako sabihin… but Dyesebel. That’s really one of my dream roles.”
When asked if they’d be open to working together in a project similar to ‘Bagani’, the 2018 action-fantasy series starring Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, Emilio eagerly said an action series with Kira would be exciting.
Kira agreed, adding, “Absolutely. Bagani was super iconic. To follow in their footsteps would be a huge honor.”
