Inigo Pascual was among the featured artists at Star Magic’s Spotlight presscon this May, held at Coffee Project in Wil Tower, Quezon City.
Charismatic and easygoing, the actor and singer-songwriter opened up about his experiences in both acting and music.
Recently starred in the Joel Lamangan’s Fatherland, Inigo shared how he often asks advice from his dad, Piolo Pascual: “Lagi ako nagtatanong kay Papa lalo na dun sa mga heavy drama scenes na kailangan ko talaga ibigay ang todo. Nagtatanong ako sa kanya kung ano bang dapat kong isipin—kung yung personal pain ko ba or should I be the character? And my dad says, ‘Whatever works for you and whatever works in that situation.’”
Aside from his acting projects in the Philippines, Inigo is also involved internationally, having been part of the cast of the American musical drama Monarch. He shared his experiences about doing auditions abroad: “Whenever I say auditions, hindi po ibig sabihin nun lagi kang natatanggap. And for me, I’m happy that I get to do the auditions. And mahirap. Mahirap po talaga—imagine niyo po, kung dito sa Philippines mahirap nang maging artista, imagine niyo sa America. Mas madami kang makakalaban and mas marami silang options.”
However, he reaffirmed his desire to continue pursuing his career here in the Philippines: “When I say I do a lot of auditions, it means I’m just taking my chance and seeing how far I can go in my career in the States. Pero sa akin, hindi ibig sabihin nun na doon lang yung magiging gusto kong career. I still want to do my career out here in the Philippines.”
“This is home to me. No matter what projects I get to do in another place, in another country, ito pa rin ‘yung bahay ko.” He added.
Of course, Inigo is also active in the music industry. In 2024, he released his album The Heartbreak Trilogy. He shared his future plans, saying, “Ngayon nasa proseso po ako na gumagawa po ako ng mga kanta. And this year, I’m doing something different with my music. I think I’m going to go back to my roots and kind of go back to the sound of ‘Dahil Sayo.’ So abangan po natin yan.”
Inigo also shared his business ventures, “I’m starting a business this year. I’m going to be making more rug designs. And I’m also going to come up with a new brand that’s coming out very soon. Mga hygiene stuff,” he said.
As a young artist, Inigo’s many plans, energy, and humility make him a solid figure in the industry. Much more awaits him, with a future still full of exciting opportunities.
