Kapuso stars Kylie Padilla and Jak Roberto are reuniting on-screen in the much-anticipated GMA Afternoon Prime series ‘My Father’s Wife’.
This marks their second project together after the 2022 drama ‘Bolera’, but this time, both actors promise a more mature and emotionally intense portrayal of their characters.
The series, directed by Aya Topacio, also stars Gabby Concepcion, Snooky Serna, Kazel Kinouchi, Arlene Muhlach, Sue Prado, Andre Paras, and Maureen Larrazabal, rounding out a powerhouse cast.
In an interview with ’24 Oras’, Kylie shared her excitement about the on-set energy: “Chill and relax lang ang taping namin and ang ganda ng buong team. May chemistry kaagad and ‘yun lang, relax lang ‘yung energy sa set. And I love that.”
She also revealed that even during their workshop, people were quick to notice the chemistry between her and Jak: “Nagkita kami sa workshop, actually, nag-workshop kami. Yun naman din ‘yung comment ng mga tao—na meron talaga, may chemistry kami.”
Jak Roberto echoed the sentiment, highlighting the advantage of having previously worked with Kylie: “Happy ako na naka-work ko ulit siya [Kylie Padilla], kasi I worked with her na, hindi na kami kailangan mag-adjust sa isa’t isa. Alam na namin kung paano kami sa screen, kailangan na lang namin i-work out ‘yung character.”
He further teased the depth of Kylie’s new role, describing it as something fans haven’t seen her do before: “Excited ako for her kasi parang ngayon niya lang din gagawin tong character na ‘to. Grabe! Abangan ninyo guys, sobrang nakaka-excite.”
Kylie, for her part, also gushed about working with seasoned actors like Gabby Concepcion and Snooky Serna: “Ang ganda nung chemistry namin on-screen and ‘yun ang importante. Naka-eksena ko sila kahapon and ‘yun, nakaka-excite. Nakaka-excite ang mga mangyayari sa script.”
‘My Father’s Wife’ is poised to deliver compelling drama and character-driven storytelling, promising fans of Kapuso drama an emotionally gripping ride.
