Actor and first-time political aspirant Marco Gumabao has officially conceded in his congressional bid for the 4th District of Camarines Sur, following the results of the 2025 midterm elections.
In a heartfelt Instagram post shared Tuesday, Gumabao expressed his deep gratitude to supporters despite falling short in votes. Based on partial and unofficial results as of 10:54 a.m., Marco received 95,089 votes, trailing behind incumbent Rep. Arnie Fuentebella, who garnered 122,306 votes.
The actor-turned-candidate, who ran under the National Unity Party, emphasized that public service goes beyond holding an official position: “Ang serbisyo at malasakit, hindi lang nasusukat sa puwesto.
He also reflected on the experiences and stories shared with him during the campaign trail, calling it a “victory” in itself.
Gumabao concluded his message with a promise to remain present and engaged in the lives of his constituents, win or lose.
“Hindi ito ang katapusan. Nandito lang ako. Hindi ko kayo iiwanan.”
