The official earnings of Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino’s hit romantic comedy ‘My Love Will Make You Disappear’ have finally been revealed — and it’s no longer just fan speculation.
ABS-CBN and Star Cinema confirmed through an official post on May 7 that the KimPau movie has now grossed Php173 million worldwide.
The announcement comes after weeks of buzz online, including rumors claiming the film earned over Php1.5 billion. The clarification brought relief and celebration to KimPaulandia — the devoted fanbase of Kim and Paulo — who had been eagerly awaiting accurate figures.
In a statement, Kim Chiu expressed her gratitude, saying: “We’re very thankful, very happy and parang nakakatuwa na maramdaman ‘yung suporta ng mga tao.”
Paulo Avelino also acknowledged the support of fans who went above and beyond, organizing block screenings both locally and abroad: “Very grateful to anyone who supported the movie… thank you so much.”
To mark the milestone, the cast and crew gathered for a victory and thanksgiving dinner, which also doubled as an early birthday celebration for Avelino (May 13) and ABS-CBN COO Cory Vidanes (May 15).
When asked about his birthday wish, Avelino replied: “Wish ko talaga sana umunlad na ekonomiya ng Pilipinas.”
Kim, meanwhile, wished her leading man good health and happiness, saying: “Siyempre good health, kasi mahaba pa ‘yung tatakbuhin ng buhay niya and happiness.”
As for gifts, Kim jokingly admitted that Paulo is hard to shop for: “Ang hirap kasi nito bigyan ng regalo!”
To which Paulo quipped: “Ayokong nireregaluhan ako… very specific ‘yung mga gusto ko sa buhay. ‘Yung mga kailangan ko lang ‘yung gusto ko. Ayoko ng mga luho.”
‘My Love Will Make You Disappear’ is still screening in select cinemas and is set to premiere in Taiwan on May 9, with Vietnam releases to follow.
