On the May 31 episode of It’s Showtime, the Tawag ng Tanghalan segment took an unexpectedly heartfelt turn as contender Aaron Lao shared a poignant story about his past relationship.

Opening up about his lingering feelings and hope for reconciliation, Aaron’s vulnerability struck a chord with host Vice Ganda, prompting her to reflect deeply on the fleeting nature of life’s joys. The discussion evolved into a candid moment of introspection, with Vice connecting Aaron’s emotions to her own recent experiences, particularly after watching Only We Know starring Charo Santos-Concio and Dingdong Dantes.
Vice, visibly moved, shared how the movie left her grappling with a mix of gratitude and fear. “Masarap talaga sa pakiramdam na magkasama ka. Kaya ang sakit sa pakiramdam na malaman na wala na yung gusto mong kasama,”she said, her voice heavy with emotion.
“Di ba, ansarap ng may kasama?!”The sentiment resonated with the audience, as Vice turned to co-host Darren Espanto, admitting, “Ang vulnerable ko today!”
She recounted how the film stirred a longing to rush home to her partner, Ion Perez. “After the movie, gusto ko nang umuwi, gusto ko nang makita si Ion agad!”she shared, her words carrying a raw sincerity.
The comedian, known for her quick wit, didn’t shy away from the weight of her feelings. “I’ve felt so blessed, but at the same time, natakot ako. Kasi tomorrow is never a promise,”she reflected, highlighting the fragility of happiness. With a self-deprecating laugh, she added, “Hindi ko alam, siguro sa edad ko ‘to kaya anh arte-arte ko.”
Yet, her vulnerability shone through as she mused, “Gusto na kita makita kaagad kahapon. Sabi ko, uuwi na ako, gusto ko syang makita, kasi hindi ko nga alam… minsan bakit ‘yung magaganda, binabawi agad—para akong tanga!”
Blending humor with heartfelt honesty, Vice’s emotional moment reminded viewers to cherish the present, as life’s sweetest joys can end abruptly.
