The Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 box-office hit “And The Breadwinner Is…,” starring Vice Ganda, continues to capture the hearts of viewers as it topped the list of most-watched movies in Netflix Philippines.
The drama-comedy, which premiered on the streaming platform on June 12, continues to touch the lives of many Filipino families for its heartwarming storyline that features relatable characters and the countless sacrifices and challenges that each one has to endure in the hopes of a better life.
The movie revolves around OFW breadwinner Bambi (Vice) – who fakes her own death in exchange for a large amount of money in order to help her family who is experiencing a financial crisis.
“And The Breadwinner Is…” posted a worldwide gross of P460 million and it serves as the first collaboration between Vice and award-winning director Jun Robles Lana.
It won the award for Gender Sensitivity at the 50th MMFF Gabi ng Parangal, while Vice was recognized with the Special Jury Citation award for her groundbreaking performance.
