Carlos Agassi has spoken out against a harsh comment questioning his manhood and his relationship with wife Sarina, after a netizen implied that his worth is diminished by his lack of children.
In a video posted on Instagram on June 10, the actor-model read out the offensive remark: “Idol, you’re handsome, you’ve got a great body, you’re famous, rich, and good-looking—pero wala namang kwenta kasi hindi mo mabigyan ng anak ‘yung asawa mo.”
Agassi did not mince words in his response: “Kuya, hindi lahat ng tao goal magkaanak. Hindi lahat ng tao ready magkaanak emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially,” he said, highlighting how parenthood is a deeply personal choice that not everyone prioritizes.
He went on to criticize societal expectations, pointing out how some people who do have children aren’t necessarily prepared for the responsibility.
“May mga magulang na hindi naman hands-on sa mga anak at pinapasa lang sa kamag-anak o yaya. Kung hindi para sa’yo, hindi para sa’yo.”
The 44-year-old celebrity clarified that while he isn’t opposed to having kids, he’s at peace with whatever life has in store for him and his wife.
“Hindi ako naiinggit sa may anak. Hindi ko rin ayaw magkaanak—kung ano ‘yung ibigay sa akin ni Lord at kung anong itinadhana sa amin ng misis ko,” he explained. “I’m so happy to be alive with my wife and to be here with you, guys.”
