Award-winning actor Dennis Trillo stood his ground on social media after several netizens made disparaging remarks about Jazz, the son of his wife Jennylyn Mercado with actor Patrick Garcia.
The issue began when Jennylyn shared a wholesome video on her Facebook page showing a fun day out with her sons, Jazz and Dennis’ son Calix, at a National Geographic store. “Spending the day with my boys, discovering wonders and picking up some cool stuff at the National Geographic store,” she captioned.
However, what was meant to be a lighthearted family moment quickly turned sour when a netizen commented, “Parang may autism anak ni Jen.”
Dennis swiftly replied, “May problema po ba kayo sa may autism?”
Another commenter chimed in with, “Parang malamya,” prompting Dennis to clap back with, “Wow. Hiyang hiya naman ako sa pagmumukha mo.”

Jazz, now 16, was publicly confirmed by Jennylyn in a 2022 interview to be on the autism spectrum. According to the Mayo Clinic, autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental condition that affects social interaction, communication, and behavior.
The couple’s fans rallied behind Dennis, applauding his firm stance and defending the family’s right to live in peace.
Dennis and Jennylyn, who tied the knot in 2021, have long embraced their blended family setup, often sharing their parenting journey. Jazz is Jennylyn’s son with Patrick Garcia, while Dennis has Calix from a previous relationship. They also share a daughter, Dylan.
