Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson opened up about his past romantic entanglements with some of his former leading ladies, while also reaffirming the strength of his current relationship with actress Julia Barretto.
In a candid interview on ‘Toni Talks’ with Toni Gonzaga-Soriano, Anderson was asked about the lingering intrigue surrounding his relationships with his former co-stars.
The actor admitted that he had developed feelings for a few of the actresses he worked with, though he chose not to name names. “Siyempre binibigay mo ‘yong best mo sa work mo, and ‘yong work mo, is dapat na-iin love ka rin sa character na ‘yan… and itong si Girl naman, maayos, ka-in love-in love din,” Gerald explained.
Gonzaga, herself a former entertainment show host, quipped, “Alam naming lahat ‘yan, ‘yong mga partner na na-in love ka,” to which Anderson could only smile in agreement.
Over the years, Gerald has been linked to several of his leading ladies, including Kim Chiu, Sarah Geronimo, Pia Wurtzbach, Bea Alonzo, and Julia Barretto, whom he was first paired with in the 2019 film ‘Between Maybes.’ Their on-screen chemistry eventually blossomed into a real-life romance.
Now in their fifth year together, Gerald addressed recent breakup rumors with Julia, clarifying that they are very much still together.
“No, we’re okay. Kanina, hinatid ko siya sa airport. Papunta sila sa Dubai,” he shared, dismissing online chatter that stemmed from the absence of recent couple photos on social media. “People think na naghiwalay kayo ni Julia,” Toni asked. Gerald replied, “No,” emphasizing that not everything is about what people see online.
He described their relationship as “deeper,” praising Julia’s nurturing nature. “Her love, values, and support inspire me to be better and give her 100 percent,” he added.
Gerald also reflected on how their bond has grown stronger over the years. “When you go through something like that and see that your partner is emotionally strong, you know it was worth it,” he said.
When asked about settling down, the 36-year-old actor did not hesitate. “Of course. I need a child,” he said with a smile, adding that his father is fond of Julia and looks forward to becoming a grandfather.
