Actress Kira Balinger recently confirmed that she was once in a romantic relationship with fellow actor-singer LA Santos, a revelation that shed new light on their onscreen chemistry during the promotion of their 2023 film ‘Maple Leaf Dreams’.
The admission came during Kira’s guest appearance on veteran journalist Karen Davila’s vlog, where she was asked directly about her love life.
“Na-link ka sa ilang co-stars. Were you ever involved with any of them?” asked Karen.
“Maybe,” replied Kira with a smile. “I will not lie kasi at 24 po, Miss Karen, would you believe if I said no?”
When prodded further if she was in a relationship with LA, Kira responded, “Uhm, maybe? Pero open secret. Di naman namin tinatago, pag nakikita kami sa labas.”
She went on to share that the relationship has since ended as both of them are currently focused on their respective priorities.
The revelation contrasts LA’s earlier statements during their 2024 film promotion, where he had said he was “basted” or turned down by Kira. At the time, LA said, “Nabasted na po ako, e… We really try our best po na maabot yung pangarap namin pareho. Siguro, someday, why not?”
During that same press conference, Kira had remained vague when asked about the possibility of dating LA. “Life is filled with so many mysteries and surprises, so mahirap po talagang magsalita ng tapos,” she said, while praising LA for being kind and good-looking.
She also teased the press, asking them if they were “boto” or in favor of LA for her.
While the couple has now gone their separate ways, fans of their love team may find a new appreciation for their past on- and off-screen connection—proving that sometimes, the real stories behind the scenes are just as intriguing as the ones on camera.
