Kapamilya actor Sam Milby marked his 41st birthday last May 23 with a gift to himself—a brand-new Tesla electric car.
In a video posted by Cornerstone Entertainment, the ‘A Family Affair’ and ‘Saving Grace’ star shared a first look at his sleek silver Tesla, expressing excitement and satisfaction after just a week of driving it.
“This is kind of my birthday gift to myself, I guess. After driving this for a week now, I’m super happy with it. Long range. Ang bilis, sobra…” he said.
Sam also highlighted the perks of owning an electric car, particularly when it comes to maintenance.
“You don’t have to worry about maintenance because there’s no oil change, there’s no engine. It’s so smooth, so fast, so quiet. I’m super happy with this car right now. Sobrang okey s’ya.”
One major bonus, according to Sam, is that electric vehicles are not yet part of the number coding scheme in the Philippines, giving him more freedom to drive anytime.
“There’s actually so many charging stations pala sa Pilipinas so it’s not as scary as most people think. And sa ngayon, walang coding,” he added.
While adjusting to the all-digital dashboard, Sam admitted that the lack of physical controls is still something new to him.

“Everything is on the screen. There’s no other physical controls. Medyo naninibago lang [ako] sa aspect na ‘yon. Price-wise, it’s not bad at all.”
The actor even joked about sounding like a brand endorser: “Am I endorsing Tesla?” he laughed, during his casual car tour.
Wrapping up his thoughts on the purchase, Sam shared his contentment: “I’m content,” he said.
