Veteran broadcast journalist Jessica Soho surprised viewers when she entered the ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ house as a guest just before the ‘Celebrity Collab Edition Big Night’—and even more so when she said she’s game to be a housemate herself… with one request.
During the July 7 episode of ‘Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’, the award-winning journalist shared her first-ever experience inside Kuya’s house, where she chatted with the Big 4 duos and even had her own moment inside the Confession Room with Big Brother.
“In anything, there is always a first time. Pero isa ho ito siguro sa mga hindi ko maisip na mangyayari pala,” Soho said, referring to the groundbreaking ABS-CBN and GMA Network collaboration. “Posible pala ‘yung ABS-CBN at ang aming home network, ang GMA, magko-collab… Who would have thought, ‘di ba?”
When asked by Kuya if she was willing to be a housemate, Soho laughed and replied, “Please not today, not this week, Kuya. Ang dami kong ganap. But maybe some other time.”
True to her journalist roots, Soho used the visit to get to know the final housemates more intimately. She chatted with all eight finalists, learning about their backgrounds, lessons from the show, and personal journeys. She also cooked sopas for them, shared laughs, and even gave advice: “Be good and do good.”
Soho later admitted that the house rules—especially the strict limits on external information—were more challenging than she expected. “Ang dami kong violation, sabi ni Kuya,” she joked. “But it was a wonderful experience… nakakatuwa ‘yung housemates, may kanya-kanyang personality.”
This unique crossover between ‘KMJS’ and ‘PBB’ highlights how boundaries between networks are slowly fading in favor of unforgettable television moments.
As for Soho potentially becoming a real housemate? Kuya is keeping the door open. As he told her, “Makikilala mo ako, Jessica… sa takdang panahon.”
And by the looks of it, the viewers—and Soho herself—just might be ready when that time comes.
