Executives from rival media giants ABS-CBN and GMA Network met with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos at her office on Thursday, August 14, hinting at another historic collaboration in the Philippine entertainment industry.

In attendance were GMA Network Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes, Sparkle First Vice President & Head Joy Marcelo, ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, and ABS-CBN COO Cory Vidanes.
“Cooking up something exciting for the Philippine entertainment scene,” the First Lady wrote in an Instagram post, sharing photos from the meeting. “Our homegrown talents? They inspire, unite, and keep the whole country smiling.”
Sparkle GMA Artist Center also fueled speculation on social media, teasing fans to “stay tuned for an exciting project.”

This isn’t the first time the country’s biggest networks have joined forces. In 2023, ABS-CBN and GMA Network launched their first teleserye collaboration, ‘Unbreak My Heart’, starring Jodi Sta. Maria, Joshua Garcia, Richard Yap, and Gabbi Garcia. The following year, ABS-CBN’s noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’ began airing on GMA Network.
Earlier this year, the two networks also co-produced ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’, which, for the first time, welcomed GMA Sparkle artists into the iconic reality show. The season crowned Mika Salamanca and Brent Manalo as the winning duo.
The high-profile meeting comes as the First Lady continues her push to support local talent and the film industry. In March, she attended the 2025 Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) in Los Angeles, California, and has publicly encouraged showcasing Filipino creativity on the global stage.
