Two of today’s most in-demand young leading men, Donny Pangilinan and Kyle Echarri, are joining forces for the first time in ABS-CBN’s upcoming action-drama series ‘Roja’.
The project was officially unveiled on Thursday, August 14, during the opening day of the ABS-CBN Trade Event, with Donny present to represent the series.
Produced by Dreamscape Entertainment, ‘Roja’ marks Donny’s first foray into the action genre and his first teleserye without longtime screen partner Belle Mariano.
Joining the powerhouse cast are Maymay Entrata, Raymond Bagatsing, Joel Torre, Janice De Belen, and Lorna Tolentino.
A teaser released by ABS-CBN Studios and Dreamscape featured a picturesque luxury resort called La Playa Roja as the main setting, with lush greenery, crystal-clear waters, and stylish cocktails setting the tone.
In the clip, cast members’ names were revealed through luggage tags being checked in at the resort, ending with the intriguing message: “Welcome to La Playa Roja.”
While story details remain under wraps, the title itself appears to be inspired by the island setting. Based on the teaser, much of the action will unfold in and around the beach paradise.
For Kyle, Roja follows his acclaimed performance in ‘Pamilya Sagrado’, while Donny’s last teleserye was the romance-drama ‘How To Spot a Red Flag’.
Off-screen, the two share a friendship, recently spotted together with Piolo Pascual, Jake Ejercito, and Esnyr Ranollo in a viral outing photo.

Dreamscape has yet to reveal the full plot or other surprises in the cast, but fans are already buzzing about the pairing of Donny and Kyle—and what ‘Roja’ might bring to primetime TV.
