Newlyweds Shaira Diaz and EA Guzman brought laughter to viewers as they shared what really happened on their much-anticipated first night as husband and wife.
The couple, who tied the knot last Thursday, August 14, made their first appearance as Mr. and Mrs. Guzman on the morning show ‘Unang Hirit’ last Monday, August 18.
During the episode, news anchor Arnold Clavio wasted no time in teasing the pair, asking EA if Shaira fulfilled her wedding vow to “make him happy” after the ceremony.
“‘Yung pangako ba niya noong sa dambana nang kinasal kayo na magiging masaya ka na, kamusta ka naman?” Arnold asked.
EA responded with a wide grin, confessing: “Ako, magiging honest ako ah, pero grabe ang ngiti ko talaga. Pero nu’ng first night, tinulugan ako.”
Shaira, laughing, quickly quipped: “It’s a scam!”
EA explained that he completely understood since Shaira had woken up early and was already exhausted from the long day.
“Pero naintindihan ko naman kasi talagang ang aga niyang nagising… so naiintindihan ko,” he said.
Shaira added with a chuckle: “Kasi hindi ko na talaga maramdaman ‘yung buong katawan ko, sobra. Ang pangit naman nu’n, ‘di ba?”
The revelation had the hosts and viewers in stitches, especially since the couple had long admitted that they chose to wait until marriage before becoming intimate. After 12 years together, their wedding day finally marked the beginning of a new chapter.
Meanwhile, Shaira also posted a heartfelt photo of EA shedding tears during the ceremony, jokingly captioning it: “Okay, safe tayo… sa pic lang na to HAHA! Pero kahit umiyak ka pa Bach, alam kong habambuhay tayo.”
While some netizens teased about the so-called “jinx” of grooms crying at weddings—citing past celebrity breakups—many fans expressed confidence that Shaira and EA’s relationship would “break the cycle.”
