The queens got crafty in this week’s “Holy Cacao” episode of ‘Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale’, where they were challenged to create couture looks made entirely out of fossilized cacao leaves — and by the end of the night, one queen’s creativity reigned supreme once more.
Following her win in last week’s girl group challenge, Viñas Deluxe scored back-to-back victories after impressing the judges with a sculptural, high-fashion ensemble made from 900 hand-treated cacao leaves. The fitted bodice featured a striking facial motif and a dramatic thigh-high slit that perfectly balanced elegance and artistry.
Kitty Space also earned her first top placement this season with a sleek, well-constructed silhouette that paid homage to French couture. Both queens faced off in the week’s lip sync for their legacy, where Viñas once again emerged victorious — earning her second RuBadge of the competition and the power to eliminate one queen from the bottom.
In the end, Viñas chose to send home Ivory Glaze, the Australia-based queen from Drag Race Down Under. Ivory’s emotional farewell capped off an episode that blended humor, heart, and cultural storytelling through design.
Earlier in the episode, the queens competed in a Hep Hep Hooray-inspired mini challenge that saw Brigiding snatch the win and ₱20,000, along with the advantage of selecting her preferred leaf color and assigning the last pick to Drag Race Canada alum Suki Doll. Despite the strategic disadvantage, Suki managed to earn positive critiques for her sleek and modern creation.
The episode also highlighted the ingenuity of local cacao farmers whose craftsmanship made the materials possible, reinforcing the show’s ongoing nod to Filipino culture and sustainability.
Three episodes in, and Viñas Deluxe now stands as the frontrunner of Slaysian Royale, with two RuBadges and a growing reputation as the season’s queen to beat.
The winner of ‘Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale’ will take home ₱2 million from BingoPlus, a year’s supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics, and the title of the first-ever inductee into the Slaysian Hall of Fame.
