Kapamilya star Awra Briguela has revealed that she plans to undergo gender reassignment surgery in the future, admitting that she now wants to be recognized and treated as a woman.

In an interview on content creator Killa Kush’s podcast, the 20-year-old actress shared her journey from identifying as gay to embracing her identity as a transgender woman.
When asked directly if she intends to undergo gender-affirming surgery, Awra did not hesitate: “Hindi pa ngayon, pero may plan din ako magpa-sex change. I’m too young pa din,” she said.
However, she admitted she is still weighing some personal decisions—particularly whether or not to keep the muscles she has built through years of training.
Parang it makes me so unique kaya hindi ko siya mapatanggal tanggal,” she explained.
While exploring her transition journey, Awra is also pausing her showbiz commitments to focus on her education. She previously said she is choosing between Mass Communications or Multimedia Arts, fields she believes complement her career path.
Awra, who rose to fame as a breakout child star in ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’, has since transitioned into more mature roles while also embracing her authentic self.
