SB19 member Josh Cullen set social media abuzz after using his platform to call out corruption while the Trillion Peso March was ongoing at the EDSA People Power Monument and Luneta Park.

On Facebook, Josh posted a blunt message aimed at erring government officials: “Ninanakawan niyo kami tapos gusto magpigil at maging mabait pa rin?”
He also uploaded a short video with fellow SB19 member Pablo Nase, where they sang the opening lines of their 2021 collaboration with Ben&Ben, Kapangyarihan: “Akala niyo ba ang kapangyarihan ay nasa inyo?”
Josh then punctuated the performance with a bleeped expletive — “Mga p***** i** ninyo” — while playfully punching at the phone camera.
The post drew mixed reactions online. While many praised Josh and Pablo for their boldness, some netizens criticized the duo, accusing them of being “lasing” or “sabog.”
Josh, however, did not let the comments slide. In the same thread, he clapped back at his detractors: “Sa mga nagko-comment na ‘Lasing’? ‘Sabog’? Baka kayo ‘yon. Tulog ba kayo nitong mga nakaraang linggo? Kung wala kang context, huwag na makisali.
Minsan lang kami magsalita. Pigil pa nga. Weird niyo. Nasa Pinas na issue dinadala niyo pa rin sa inyo. Don’t mock people who actually care about what’s happening in our country.”
Some even tried to insult Josh over his height, but fans — the ever-loyal A’Tin — immediately came to his defense.
In the end, support far outweighed criticism. Many netizens commended Josh and Pablo for speaking up through both words and music, describing their performance as a timely reminder of accountability.
‘Kapangyarihan’, released in 2021 by Ben&Ben featuring SB19, is a politically charged anthem about power, social justice, and accountability. The song also served as the theme for the 2024 war drama ‘Pulang Araw’.
Currently, Josh and Pablo are on tour for their ‘Simula at Wakas EP’, but their brief online jamming session proved that even in the middle of their busy schedules, they are ready to use their voices to call out injustice.
