Coco Martin pulled out new action stunts as his character Tanggol single-handedly saved his father Ramon (Christopher De Leon) from death in the hit action-packed series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.”
One of the directors of the series, Richard Somes, shared how the team planned for the major action sequences to offer a fresh experience for viewers. The intense rescue scene featured Tanggol and Ramon hanging from chains from the rooftop of a high-rise building while engaging in a gunfight.
“‘Yung challenge namin dito is how to come up with a new setup na magiging exciting para sa mga audience. Ang challenging dito more than the action scenes mismo is the execution ng stunts,” said Direk Richard in a behind-the-scenes video uploaded by CCM Film Productions.
After being held hostage and tortured by the Red Phoenix syndicate group (RPG), Ramon was able to make it out alive as Tanggol waged war against multiple armed men and successfully evaded the trap set-up by RPG in order to rescue his father.
The two were able to survive multiple explosions before ultimately escaping the abandoned warehouse with the help of Tanggol’s group of friends. Tanggol and Ramon will now shift their focus on getting revenge against their mortal enemies led by Divina (Rosanna Roces) and the powerful Guerrero family.
However, they aren’t the only ones who are hell-bent on getting revenge and are seeking justice for their loved ones. Ponggay (Maris Racal) has already devised her master plan to set-up Rockyboy (Baron Geisler), the person responsible for the physical attack on her step-sister Dimples (Criza Taa), who is currently fighting for her life at a hospital.
