Veteran actor John Estrada has broken his silence on rumors linking his daughter, Kaila Estrada, to actor Daniel Padilla.
In an interview with entertainment columnist Dolly Anne Carvajal, John expressed his trust in Kaila’s decisions and reiterated his unconditional support for her.
“Kaila is an adult… wala siyang ginagawang masama. I’m very confident that whatever she decides to do in her life, pinag-isipan na niya lahat ’yan,” John said.
He also stressed that it would be up to Kaila herself to clarify the real score between her and Daniel.
“All I do is to let her know and feel that she will always have my support and that I trust her and I will always be here for her and her siblings,” he added.
Kaila, John’s daughter with ex-wife Janice de Belen, is currently making waves in showbiz after her performance in the thriller ‘Incognito’, where she starred alongside Daniel. Their on-screen partnership has fueled speculations that blossomed into a real-life romance.
So far, neither Daniel nor Kaila has confirmed nor denied the rumors. However, netizens appear to be supportive of the idea, with many fans noting that the two’s chemistry in ‘Incognito’ might have made the supposed romance easier to embrace.
Interestingly, some online users also pointed out the coincidence between Kaila’s name and Daniel’s mother, actress Karla Estrada.
Daniel was previously in a long-term relationship with actress Kathryn Bernardo, which lasted 11 years before they confirmed their split in late 2023. Kathryn is now being linked to Lucena Mayor Mark Alcala.
For now, the Kaila–Daniel romance remains unconfirmed, but one thing is clear: John Estrada is standing firmly behind his daughter.
