Despite being no stranger to online criticism, ‘Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition’ Big Winner Mika Salamanca admitted that the toxicity of social media still affects her at times.

“Although sinasabi ko, parang sanay na ako diyan, pero I feel like wala talagang level na makakapagpa-immune sa ’yo sa ganitong bagay,” Mika shared during the launch of her new endorsement, J Spray, held last October 3.
The Sparkle GMA Artist Center talent explained that while she has learned to brush off bashers, hurtful comments aimed at her loved ones still affect her deeply.
“Pag may nabasa kang something na mali, about sa sarili mo lalo sa family mo… ako po, pagka bash about sa ’kin, kaya ko po siyang i-slide nang mabilis. Pero kung ibang tao, for example ’yung mga mahal ko sa buhay, kahit po kaibigan ko, mas naaapektuhan po ako du’n sa gano’ng bagay,” she said.

To protect her peace, Mika revealed that she sometimes takes social media detox breaks when the negativity becomes overwhelming. She also admitted that she has cried over fake news in the past but remains grateful to the people who continue to believe in her.
“Marami na po akong iniyakang fake news, pero nagpapasalamat ako na may mga taong hindi basta-basta naniniwala—lalo na ’yung mga nakakakilala sa akin,” she said.
When asked about her love team with Brent Manalo, Mika confirmed they have upcoming joint projects, including the family drama-mystery series ‘The Secrets of Hotel 88’ and the MMFF 2025 film ‘Call Me Mother’. However, she clarified that she doesn’t want to be confined to just one on-screen partnership.
“Ayoko pong makulong kami sa isa’t isa. Kasi before loveteam-loveteam na nangyayari na ’yan, mayroon na po talaga kaming (friendly) relationship and mayroon na po talaga kaming ginagawa separately rin,” she explained.
Beyond showbiz, Mika also finds time to pursue her passions.
“Like for example, parang trabaho pa rin po ’yun e—nagsusulat ako ng kanta, nagbabasa ako, nanonood ako ng series. Pero kapag nanonood ako ng series at movie, tine-take ko din po siya as a practice. Tinitingnan ko po ’yung expressions ng mga pinapanood ko, so parang trabaho pa rin,” she said with a laugh.

Mika’s J Spray endorsement marks another milestone in her growing career. She expressed how thankful she is for the trust given to her, saying she values working with brands that share her principles.
