Actress and outspoken government critic Agot Isidro made headlines anew after responding to a netizen who mocked her recent post about the Sierra Madre and politicians supporting mining activities.

On her X (formerly Twitter) account, Agot earlier posted a statement referencing the viral “Thank you, Sierra Madre” trend following Super Typhoon Uwan, which many netizens credited to the mountain range’s role in weakening the storm.
Her post read: “Kung kayo si Sierra Madre, sino iboboto nyo? Yung papayag na kalbuhin kayo?
Panay ang ‘Salamat Sierra Madre,’ pero iboboto yung mga pro-mining.
So alam na next election ha.”
The tweet quickly went viral, earning praise from netizens who agreed with her message on environmental accountability and responsible voting.
However, one user mocked her stance, saying: “I pity you, Agot. Hirap na hirap ka diretsahin sino ang tinutukoy mo dito sa tweet mo, naglalaban ba pagiging Anti-Marcos at Pro-Marcos mo ngayon? ”
To which Agot sharply replied: “Mhie, mas nakakaawa ka. DDS ka pa rin hanggang ngayon.”
The exchange drew amusement from netizens, with many praising Agot for her quick wit and consistency in calling out political hypocrisy.
Agot’s original post came as discussions on social media centered around the Sierra Madre’s supposed role in weakening Typhoon Uwan. While experts from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) clarified that the mountain range only slightly slows down typhoons after landfall, the online conversation reignited calls for environmental protection and stricter anti-mining measures.
As one netizen echoed in support of Agot’s statement: “Tama ka, Ms. Agot. Panay tayo ‘Thank you, Sierra Madre,’ pero boto pa rin sa mga pro-mining. Gising, mga kababayan.”
